Privacy

Longtom runs on your computer. There is no account to create, no server holding your books, and nothing is sent to us — including nothing about whether you are using it.

Draft This page describes how the software is built. It has not yet been reviewed as the operative privacy notice for a store listing or a business customer, and the published version will name a legal entity and a contact address.

What stays on your machine

Everything. One folder holds the database, the documents Longtom files for you, and its backups. The console is served on the loopback interface of your own computer and is not reachable from anywhere else.

• Your books, customers and correspondence — in a local database file you can copy, export or delete.
• Credentials — in a separate encrypted vault, never in the database, the settings, the logs, or the record of a conversation with a model. An exported database therefore carries no secrets at all.
• Your mailbox — Longtom records that a message arrived and nothing more. The customer's words live on the ticket they produced; the message stays in your mailbox.

What leaves your machine, and only because you asked it to

Longtom connects to things you configure and to nothing else. Each of these is off until you set it up, and each is a service you have your own relationship with.

• Your coding AI. Longtom does not bundle a model. It runs the command-line tool you already have installed, under your own subscription, and the work it hands over goes wherever that tool sends it — under that provider's terms, not ours. Longtom's own record of the exchange is redacted against every value in the vault before it is written down.
• Your mail server, bank and payment provider. Read using credentials you supplied, held in the vault.
• Country data updates. A small file is fetched to ask whether anything about your country has changed. The request carries nothing about you — not an identifier, not a licence key, not what you have installed. It is a plain download of a public file, and it can be switched off.

What we do not do

• No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting to us, no usage counting.
• No advertising, and nothing is sold or shared with anybody.
• No cookies on this website, and no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers on it — the fonts you are reading are served from this domain.

Filings, and what Longtom will not do on your behalf

Longtom prepares a periodic return and never lodges one. A filing is a statement about something a person did, under their own identity, at a government portal. It does not create accounts, register anything, or pay anything, and nothing addressed to a tax authority or a company registry is ever sent by it.

Your data, and getting it out

Because there is no copy anywhere else, there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete. Deleting the folder deletes the lot. Leaving is designed rather than tolerated: the ledger exports OFX for your country's usual accounting package, and the records pack is one zip an accountant or a tax office can read.

It is served as static files from Cloudflare Pages. Loading it leaves the ordinary trace any web request leaves with the network that served it; we do not add anything to that and do not look at it.
